Media Tarts Keep Unbroken Record

A cold wet and windy Friday evening saw the clash of the MKDSA FC versus the somewhat ringed Media Tarts.  An arrangement that has not yet seen a win for the MKDSA since the tie was originally played at the National Hockey Stadium.

Tonights game was organised by Lee Scriven at Woughton On The Greens' astro turf and the sides were evened out with 13 players a side.  Slightly abnormal but it gave everyone an opportunity to play.

Speaking to the SA's manager and Football Communtiy Officer Colin Berry before the game he said of his high hopes until earlier in the day when 4 players pulled out of the fixture and that was reflected in the scoreline.

So who were the Media Tarts?  Well from my view there was Lee Scriven, Luke Ashmed and Andy Gardener.  Quite what Bobby Winkelman, Ian Grant of Just Tyres (an MKDSA member!), a coach from S.E.T. MK Dons Ladies Sarah Thompson and KARL ROBINSON have to do with the media I cannot tell but the SA took to challenge.

The Media Tarts went 1 nil up against the run of play but the SA did themselves no favours when the SA goalkeeper lay claim to the ball before Paul Wright turned the ball into his own net.

The second half saw a couple of changes for the Media Tarts whilst the SA kept with the same line up.  Bobby Marsh headed over the crossbar and Colin Berry made a couple of decent saves.

Karl Robinson was marked closely with Family Guy Griffin keeping a sense of humour up front with 'out of goal' Colin Berry.

Twinkle toes of the night was Bobby Winkelman and Luke Ashmeads approach to the game sufficient enough to keep the SA out of the the Media Tarts half with a 'Get it and hoof it' approach.  Though in fairness he did say and I quote "I have the body for darts".

The score remained 2 nil at full time and it was great to see a League 1 manager play a full 90 minutes against a team of fans.  A nice birthday present for Colin Berry who went an enjoyed a pint and a bite to eat in Simpson arranged by Lee Scriven for both teams.

MKDSA Formation

On 23rd October 2003, thirty fans met at the National Hockey Stadium in Milton Keynes to establish a new supporters association following the arrival of Wimbledon Football Club (now renamed Milton Keynes Dons FC), from their former home at Selhurst Park in South London. A number of people volunteered to undertake roles as part of a steering committee to lead the association during its formation stages. In May 2004, the first full Annual General Meeting was held and Officers were elected by it's members

MKDSA Purpose

The purpose of the MK Dons Supporters Association is to provide an organised and family oriented supporters association for fans of Milton Keynes Dons Football Club.  The MKDSA aims to act as an independant voice for MK Dons supporters, ensuring that their views are represented with the Club and other organisations involved with the Dons.  It also aims to promote the Football Club within the community, increase levels of support and establish and maintain high quality services, communications and benefits for its members.
